This weekend saw the return of the Autosport International show to the NEC and I was able to pop along for a couple of days. I was honoured to have been nominated for one of the British Women Racing Drivers’ Club GoldStar Awards.

I attended the Autosport Show on Saturday along with the other nominees and was up against fellow rally driver Cathy Sewart and racing driver Jo Polley in the senior category. We were all interviewed by BWRDC member and secretary Sarah Franklin on the Motorsport UK stand before the winners were announced.

Jo Polley was announced the worthy winner of the senior category after a great season, and I was delighted to win some prizes from the award sponsors – an eye tracking session from iZone Driver Performance; chocolates from Racing Chocs who create chocolates shaped like racing helmets; and some goodies from By Kathryn, founder of the aptly named Petrolhead fragrance!

It was a great weekend and I really enjoyed meeting more of the BWRDC ladies. Tomorrow I have a test in the Fiesta following our accident at Knockhill then next Saturday is our first rally of the season, the MGJ Engineering Brands Hatch Stages, round 4 of the Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship.
