What a day at Knockhill yesterday! After our big accident there last year we were hoping for a good result to put that behind us.

The weather conditions were probably the worst we have ever rallied in, with heavy rain and wind all day resulting in a lot of standing water on the circuit. The rally stage was even more treacherous, very muddy and slippery, with flooding in places creating some additional water splashes! Stage one went well and we took the class lead, five seconds ahead of Chris Ruck, and sitting in 16th overall. We extended our lead by a few seconds per stage in the morning and by lunchtime we had moved up to 14th overall and extended our class lead to 29 seconds. We picked up a punture on the rally stage on stage four but fortunately this was right at the end of the stage so didn't affect us.

In the afternoon the stage changed round and we were running the circuit in the correct direction. The focus for us was to protect the lead we had built up in class. Conditions remained difficult but we managed to maintain our lead and finished the rally first in class and 13th overall, our best overall finish to date.

It means so much to have had such a good result following our accident last year, and it puts us in second place in the championship class standings. We now have the Christmas break and will be back out for Brands Hatch in January.

Thank you to everyone who supported us in getting this result. Jamie did a great job all day and Howard ensured the car was faultless, servicing in very challenging conditions. Thanks also to James for his help and my friends and family for coming along to support in such awful weather! Thank you to our sponsors, Cirrus Research, Morris Lubricants and Real System Controls (in particular Chris for bringing us the part we needed!)
