Ashleigh Morris

On Saturday we headed north of the border for the penultimate round of the Scottish Rally Championship, the Galloway Hills Rally near Newton Stewart, with Martin Haggett joining in the co-driver's seat again.

On stage 1 we got a puncture after having to run wide to avoid a car which had gone off but luckily were able to reach the end of the stage without losing too much time.

It was only my second gravel event in JIG but I loved every second! Other than the puncture we had a fairly good run for the rest of the day, without any issues. The car was fantastic all day and I'm pleased with how I'm progressing as I build up my confidence on gravel and get used to pacenotes.

Pleased to have finished 4th in class, 51st overall and top in the SRC Ladies'. Massive thanks to Martin for sitting in and keeping me right and to Howard and Connor from FJ-RS Engineering for looking after JIG and chasing us around as our management car too!

Thanks to the organisers and marshals for putting on such a great event - we enjoyed our ice creams supplied at the end! Thank you also to our partners Morris Lubricants, Demon Tweeks Motorsport and Carbon Positive Motorsport for their ongoing support. Next up we have the Carlisle Stages on 23rd October for the final round of the Scottish Rally Championship.
