Wow, what a weekend! Yesterday was the first round of the 2022 Scottish Rally Championship, the Snowman Rally near Inverness. After 4 months out of the car it was amazing to get back out on the stages.
JIG had some TLC over the winter and I had a cautious start getting used to the new suspension and MRF tyres but the stages were great and the new set up gave me a lot more confidence in the car. I’m delighted to have finished 3rd in class M2 which is a brilliant start to our season.
Thanks to Martin Haggett for his commitment, flying in from Germany to co-drive, to Howard and Connor at FJ-RS Engineering for driving us on what was a round trip of around 1,000 miles, and for doing a great job on the car, JIG didn’t miss a beat all weekend.
Massive thanks to my sponsors, Carbon Positive Motorsport, Morris Lubricants and Demon Tweeks Motorsport for their ongoing support – I’m really grateful to have them all onboard for another season.
It was great to have Paul from Carbon Positive Motorsport with us for the weekend along with his son Ari who made a great apprentice, helping out Howard and Connor. Next up for us is the Speyside Stages in April and I can’t wait!
