Ashleigh Morris

This weekend took us north of the border to Knockhill for the only Scottish round of the championship. Jamie and I were both looking forward to this event as it's our home rally and we had a really good result there last year.

We had a good start to the event and at lunchtime we were sitting 19th overall which we were really pleased with. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan on stage 5! We clipped a tyre at the Arnold Clark chicane on our final lap and that launched the car into the air, we rolled 3 times and then hit the barrier.

Fortunately Jamie and I are both ok and we were able to get out of the car quickly then stand with the marshals until the car was recovered at the end of stage 6. The recovery was interesting with the Discovery getting bogged down in the gravel and having to be towed out by another Discovery! Jamie and I were checked out by the medics just to be safe but are both absolutely fine.

Unfortunately there is extensive damage to the car - the radiator and significant bodywork damage. My seat also moved as the bracket bent with the impact. We will need to further assess the damage but we are hoping that the team can get the car sorted for our next rally at Brands Hatch on 18th January.
