As a mark of respect to Her Majesty The Queen, the Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally held a 2-minute silence before the event began on Saturday, and as an additional tribute, all Competing Cars and the Safety Car Convoy carried a special sun-strip.

Due to a lack of entries the event was down to just two stages, Cairn Edward and Fleet, run three times each. On our first loop we had a fairly steady run through Cairn Edward but we had a good run on Fleet and were sitting 7th in class and 48th overall after the first loop.

Stage 3 also went well but we had a bit of a “moment” on stage 4 after which I backed off a little and lost a bit of time so dropped a class position.

Unfortunately on SS5 we went off on Cairn Edward after a crest and that was the end of our rally. I can’t blame anything other than driver error so it’s been a tough few days reflecting on what went wrong.

The damage to the car is more extensive than first realised so we need to take some time to figure out the best route forward and unfortunately are unlikely to make Carlisle Stages for the final round of the SRC.

Thank you to my sponsors Carbon Positive Motorsport, Morris Lubricants and Demon Tweeks for their support, and to FJ-RS Engineering and Martin Haggett for all their hard work and dedication this season.

Well done to the event for honouring the Queen - the piper, 2 minute silence and special sun strips were a lovely tribute.
